This Saturday is the first Real, Wild, and Woody Beer Festival in Tempe, AZ. The festival features over thirty craft breweries and draws attention to the growing beer scene in Arizona. A ticket offers 20 tastings and a beer glass.
While the beer festival is smaller-scale, events like this are drawing more attention from the local police in the Tempe, Phoenix, and Scottsdale areas. As more beer fests pop up in the state of Arizona, we want to remind Arizona residents and visitors to not drink and drive.

Many visitors don’t know that Arizona has arguably the strictest DUI laws in the nation with the harshest punishments. There are different levels of DUIs in Arizona, including: Standard DUIs, Extreme DUIs, and Aggravated DUIs.
If you find yourself in a situation where you are pulled over for suspicion of a DUI, know that you have a right to an attorney. When pulled over, you must produce your license, proof of insurance, and registration when requested. You also must allow a search of your person to make sure there are no weapons. Besides that, it is best to say as little as possible and politely request an attorney.
Always ask to speak to an attorney before a breath or blood test. The police officer is investigating you for a crime and trying to collect evidence. You have no duty to incriminate yourself.
