Most people would think that a driver hanging off of another driver’s car would be some sort of crazy television stunt, or part of a scene being filmed for an action packed movie. However, in recent Arizona news, authorities report that a woman is in custody after a crash where the driver of the other car was left hanging off of her car hood.
According to court records, the driver who was hanging on Kasana Tracey Oslin Querta’s hood told police he that also saw a small child in Querta’s vehicle who was not placed in a proper child’s car seat. Witnesses on the scene saw the entire accident, as well as what happened after. Moreover, witnesses say Querta was clearly trying to leave the scene in a hurry after the accident.
Querta was reportedly so intoxicated that she drove for a short distance with the driver of the other car hanging onto her hood. It is unclear whether she knew the driver was there and did not care, or if she simply was too intoxicated to notice. Meanwhile, the man hung onto the hood until he was able to safely let go.
Authorities on the scene say Querta showed signs of possible alcohol impairment including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and the strong odor of alcohol. It was also not reported whether she was given a field sobriety test or if she was taken into custody based upon leaving the scene of the accident and her obvious signs of impairment.
Querta was booked and held on suspicion of child endangerment, aggravated DUI and failure to stop at the scene of the accident.
